What is Reflexology

Reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands, and ears, which correspond to every part, gland, and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation, and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.

Factors Affecting Tenderness:

Stress – physical, emotional, and mental (all reflexes may be tender)
Injury/Trauma – (calluses, corns, bunions are signs of trauma)
Surgery – (scar tissue)
Medications – (may reduce client’s sensitivity)
Level of Wellness – (sensitivity may increase with illness)
Age – (young/ elderly)
Phantom Limb – (after amputation the patient can still feel the limb)
Footwear – (feet regularly compressed into tight shoes can be tender)

What happens during a session?

1.Client fills out a Health Record / Client Waiver
2.Client sits in a foot bath 
3.Foot inspection by Lorraine 
4  Client lays on a massage table, fully clothed, on your back                                                                                                                                         5.Paraffin wax applied to your hands for warmth and softness to hands.

6. Lorraine sits on a stool at your feet to begin treatment .Working with precision on every reflex 

7.Apply lotion or oil and perform closing massage techniques
